COVID-19 vaccine eligibility

The first group of Australians have started receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

There are five phases or groups in the COVID vaccine rollout, focusing on protecting the most vulnerable Australians first.

The vaccine will be free for all Australian citizens, permanent residents, and most visa-holders.

A person's COVID vaccine priority group can be determined by using Health Direct's COVID-19 vaccine eligibility checker. Click here to use the online tool to see when you, someone you care for, or your patient will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

Note that most individuals in Phase 1B will make an appointment through the National Booking Service or the vaccine provider’s own booking system. The National Booking Service is currently in development and is expected to be available in the coming weeks.
