Emergency volunteer register
Murray PHN has a role in working with the Department of Health and Human Services Victoria (DHHS) and the Department of Health (DoH) to support primary care services in emergency situations, including the current bushfires.
We understand many people want to help in these situations however, this needs to be done in a coordinated way to ensure we're getting the right care, to the right place and at the right time and importantly, to maintain the safety of volunteers. Therefore the best way to get involved is to register your interest and to not turn up to evacuation centres.
We are seeking health professionals to record their interest in joining the Murray PHN Emergency Volunteer Register, in order to help staff field primary care clinics, or act as a temporary workforce in affected general practices and other primary care providers in times of emergency.
Please note that by sharing your information you are consenting to us sharing your details with the relevant government organisations in times of emergency, who may require more information and credentials from you. Registering your interest does not automatically guarantee you will be called upon to volunteer in an emergency situation. Furthermore RWAV are helping to fill workforce vacancies in bushfire affected regions, more information about this, including how individuals can also get involved with bushfire recovery is listed our bushfire webpage here.
