Initial Assessment and Referral (IAR) for mental healthcare training | Online

May 18 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The Initial Assessment and Referral – Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) is an initiative of the Department of Health and Aged Care. It supports clinicians in matching a person's treatment needs with the right intensity of mental health support, at the right time.

General practitioners, registrars, mental health clinicians and other health professionals within the Murry PHN catchment, are invited to attend this two-hour CPD-accredited group training workshop on how to use the IAR-DST.

This training will be co-facilitated by Dr. Remon Eskander (MBBCH, AMC, FRACGP, Registered Focus Psychology Strategies Provider, Mental Health Certificate, Dermatology Certificate). Remon is a general practitioner in Central Victoria with a special interest and vast experience in managing chronic conditions including mental health, and Louise Scheidl, Murray PHN's Initial Assessment and Referral Training and Support Officer. Louise has more than 35 years' experience working across a variety of mental health service levels as an occupational therapist.

Click here to register (maximum 24 attendees), or to learn more about the IAR-DST, click here.
