The Australian Psychological Society is re-running this webinar due to technical issues the first time.
The webinar is available at no charge to all health care workers, including frontline and behind the scenes staff working in the Murray PHN region.
Self-care in the COVID-19 context
This webinar focuses on how health practitioners can look after themselves during this time and topics include:
- What COVID-19 means for health care workers
- ‘Normal’ stress reactions and anxieties
- Managing uncertainty, stress and burnout
- Strategies for managing anxiety, fear and frustration
- When and where to seek help
- Helpful and unhelpful behaviour
- Personal relationships and connectedness
Presenters:
- Dr Helen Lindner, registered psychologist with an endorsed area of practice in health psychology, an approved supervisor, and a Fellow of the APS and the College of Health Psychologists
- Mr David Stokes, psychologist with a long history of working in staff management and professional practice, and a Fellow of the APS

Registering process:
- Click on the event link and it will take you to the event listing on the APS website (it’s a hidden link).
- Click on Login, for those who already have an account or are an APS member.
- If you do not already have an account, click on “register to create an account”. This will ask for personal contact details, such as name, address (recommend using work address), organisation name, email, and phone number. You will receive an email with your login details to make any changes and to login to view the webinar.
- You will then need to confirm your registration. Check the box to agree to allow APS to disclose your details to Murray PHN for our records.
- Click next and you will be taken to the payment screen, payment amount is $0. Check the terms and conditions box and click “Pay Now”
- This will finalise your registration for the event. You will receive an email confirming your registration for the event (allow up to 1 hour).
