The Australian General Practice Training Workforce Planning and Prioritisation (WPP) project has been established to inform the placement of current and future general practitioner training to address workforce shortages.

Led mostly by PHNs, and Murray PHN for the state of Victoria, WPP teams are providing independent information back to the Commonwealth Government on community and workforce needs, training capacity and regional pathways. This information will be used to assist the GP Colleges in planning placement decisions and training capacity.

Murray PHN has partnered with GP Supervisors Australia to hold a webinar to discuss this work in more detail. GP Supervisors are encouraged to attend and share their views, helping to identify the barriers and possible solutions.
