HeadtoHelp is a free mental health support service open to Victorians (and people living in our border communities) whose mental health has been impacted by the pandemic. It is available to people of any age, including children, young people and older adults, and is open to families, carers and people experiencing addiction.
By calling 1800 595 212, people will speak with a trained mental health professional who will assess their individual situation and help them develop a package of support services that are best for them. This could include care at a HeadtoHelp mental health hub or a connection to existing services from lower to higher intensity.
Health professionals can suggest that their patient calls HeadtoHelp on 1800 595 212, or can call the helpline themselves to seek help for a patient, without the need for a hard copy referral or mental health plan.
For answers to frequently asked questions for both general practice and consumers, visit our webpage here. You will also find posters, flyers and suggested social media posts that feature the engaging HeadtoHelp bear.
We encourage you to #SharetheBear to show your support for people in need of mental health care. As the bear says, the sooner you HeadtoHelp, the better you'll feel.
Note: HeadtoHelp is NOT a crisis service so please be mindful of this when promoting the service. The service operates during business hours, currently 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday except public holidays.
