LGA services and plans for older persons

What’s available to seniors in your local government area?

Local government plays an important role in supporting the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 by protecting, improving and promoting public health and wellbeing within their municipality.

Councils can provide assistance to older people through a range of activities and support services that include senior citizens’ groups and centres; meals; home, personal and respite care and community transport. Many local councils also provide free or low-cost exercise classes and fitness programs for older people, so it’s worth seeing what is available in your local government area.
