DV Alert workshop | Echuca

Lifeline Central Victoria and Mallee is conducting a free two day workshop in Echuca 15-16 June. It is designed for nurses, doctors, police, ambulance and other front line workers. It will help attendees to recognise, respond and refer.

Influenza vaccines | Off-label use

The Australian Department of Health monitors seasonal influenza vaccines. In  2016, there continues to be off-label use of influenza vaccines amongst children under 5, which poses a safety risk to those children.

Tripacel ®  DTPa vaccine

The NSW Public Health Unit have advised that early shipments of  Tripacel ®  will be supplied in a box labelled Tripacel ® but the vial label of Daptacel ®. The US and Australian vaccines are equivalent.

Counting Shared Health Summaries - check AIDA
To find out answers to:

  • Does updating a shared health summary for a patient by uploading a new one 'count' towards the requirement, or is it a count only of the number of unique patients?
  • Will my practice get the total count of a shared health summary upload for a patient that visits multiple practices?
  • Can my practice carry forward shared health summary upload counts?

Tristar Medical group Mildura have been hosting a Men's Health Week event since 2013. This year, presentations will be given by GPs, nurses, educators and professionals. The local football team,  men's shed and RSL  will be in attendance and the day will feature a Q&A session and offer hearing tests.
