Murray PHN Central Victoria | New office

The Murray PHN Central Victoria team have moved into their new premises located at  3-5 View Point, Bendigo.  CPD events and some meetings will remain to be held at Murray PHN  Corporate office, 37 Rowan street.

Ambulance service | Wedderburn

Wedderburn’s first ever 24-hour ambulance service has been announced. With the establishment of new Paramedic Community Support Co-ordinators in Wedderburn and Warracknabeal local communities including Boort, Rainbow, Hopetoun, Jeparit and Patchewollock will be supported.

Pharmacotherapy | New policy

The Department of Health and Human Services has revised the policy for pharmacotherapy treatment. Changes are effective from today Thursday 1 September 2016. The new policy provides stricter guidelines on eligibility for and number of take-away doses.

Biggest ever blokes lunch | Shepparton

On Friday 19 August the biggest ever blokes lunch was held in Shepparton. The event aims to raise awareness of prostate cancer and raises money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. This year more than $1 million was raised to help continue the work that Prostate Cancer Nurse, Sonia Strachan does at Goulburn Valley Health.

Goulburn Valley Area Mental Health Consumer and Carer Advisory Council is desperately trying to raise funds for a NAO robot, which will help Goulburn Valley Health in a research, education and training capacity.

GROW peer support group | Shepparton

GROW runs a free peer support group for people dealing with, and for those caring for, people with mental health issues.  The group follows a 12 step program of recovery and personal growth. Appointments or referrals aren't necessary and the leaders are trained volunteers who have used/are using the program.

Identifying family violence  | Beechworth

A  key aspect of the implementation of the Common Risk Assessment Framework (CRAF) is a state-wide rollout of Level 1 CRAF training. This training is being carried out on Thursday 8 September in Beechworth and covers: forms of family violence, ways of responding and referral pathways. The session is for workers with no specific training in family violence.

Women's Health Week | Robinvale

Robinvale District Health, Royal Flying Doctor Service and PapScreen Victoria are working together to offer pap tests. Trained nurses will be visiting Manangatang and Wemen. A women's health evening  event will also be held on Wednesday 7 September.
