Royal Flying Doctor Service

The Royal Flying Doctor Service Victoria is calling on GP’s in the Mallee and Northern District regions to refer their diabetes patients to Flying Doctor Telehealth to assist with the management of their patients with diabetes.

Aboriginal Mental Health First Aid Training | Kyabram


This course was held Monday 29 - Tuesday 30 August. Participants are wearing not your deadly self  t-shirts that feature local Aboriginal artwork, designed by Murray PHN.

St John of God Hospital Bendigo, have three new Oncologists: Dr Rob Blum,  Dr Sam Harris and Dr Day Ng with special interests ranging from melanoma, to urology and tumours.

New immunisation handbook

The Australian Immunisation Handbook 10th Edition 2016 Update is now available. It  contains amendments to a number of chapters including changes to clinical recommendations. The major change was to the yellow fever chapter.

GP information sharing |  ChildFIRST

Child FIRST is a central referral point to effectively link vulnerable children, young people and their families into a range of community-based family services. There are 24 Child and Family Information, Referral and Support Teams (Child FIRST) across Victoria. When Child FIRST seek information from GPs it is important to be aware of the situations where the Children’s Youth and Families Act 2005 effects the principles of the Privacy Act 2000 and the Health Records Act 2001. Dr Ayesha Saqib  has begun at Shepparton Private Hospital Consulting Suites. Dr Saqib  has keen interest in the management of breast cancer, hepatobiliary  and gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer and neuro-oncology.

Public Consultations on Secondary Use of My Health Record Data
Before My Health Record data can be used for secondary use purposes, a Framework needs to be developed to govern how this data can be accessed, by whom and for what purposes.  The Framework will reflect the views of the Australian community and therefore everyone is invited to attend a  public consultation; which  are currently  taking place up until November 2016.

Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre

The Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre (AWRCC) opened on Monday 5 September. The aim of the centre is to  provide  integrated cancer treatment, care and research for the people of North East Victoria and  Southern NSW.

Older Persons Mental Health

The Older Persons Mental Health Service of North East and Border Mental Health, Albury Wodonga Health, welcomes Dr George Alexander and Steve Voogt on a part time basis. Dr Alexander has extensive experience in the Psychiatry of Old Age and Steve Voogt is able to provide assistance on medical co-morbidities.  

 

Project ICE sport | Mildura

A community event will be held on Tuesday 13 September in Mildura, where parents, siblings and ex ice-users will share their stories of the drug ICE.
