Ice Action Grants | Victoria

On Wednesday 21 September Minister for Mental Health Martin Foley announced the twelve community groups who will receive Community Ice Action Grants. Eight of the twelve  groups will deliver local initiatives across the Murray PHN region in: Bendigo, Broadford, Cobram, Nathalia, Numurkah, Seymour, Shepparton, Wodonga and Yarrawonga.

National aged care framework

Advocates and consumers are being encouraged to have their say to help inform the design of future aged care advocacy services that focus on individual advocacy support. The consultation period is now open and submissions close Friday 7 October 2016.

Congratulations to Kyneton District Health who have been awarded the 2016 Bendigo Bank Macedon Ranges Business of the Year. The hospital’s acute ward was also awarded with Excellence in Professional Services.

AOD | Online courses

Free online courses covering alcohol and other drugs (AOD) and preventing and managing occupational violence in healthcare settings are available from Pharmacotherapy Network for non-medical practice staff, nurses and pharmacy support staff within Victoria. The  courses are accredited by the Australian Association of Practice Managers for CPD points.

GV Health | New interim CEO

GV Health have announced their new interim CEO, Dr Max Alexander who has taken over from Fiona Brew, GV Health's Executive Director Innovation and Performance and Chief Nurse and Midwifery Officer. Dr Alexander will be taking on the leadership role for the next few months, while the hospital continues the recruitment process for the permanent position.

Parkinson's disease update | Shepparton
