Close the Gap | Murray PHN pledge and regional events
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people still experience much lower life expectancy rates, acute levels of sickness and poorer access to appropriate medical care than most other Australians. Click here to read more.

Advanced care planning resource

A resource, consisting of nine modules will support doctors and health professionals to have the conversation with patients about end-of-life decision making,  engage patients in decisions about their care and  help them to undertake advance care planning.

Pathology | Health alert

The Chief Health Officer has issued an alert to pathology services and medical practitioners. The  Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009 have been updated, changing obligations of pathology services and medical practitioners, effective from Monday 4 April, 2016.

PCPs and Murray PHN meet


On Thursday 10 March, 2016 Murray PHN Central Victoria joined Bendigo Loddon Primary Care Partnership,  Campaspe Primary Care Partnership, Central Victorian PCP and Southern Mallee Primary Care Partnership for a networking and information session at Morley's Emporium in Bendigo. The session provided a  great opportunity to share and collaborate to improve the health of Central Victorians.

Cobaw Community Health | Positions vacant

Cobaw Community Health currently has two positions vacant:  General Manager Organisational Systems Development and  General Manager Health Services Development. Both positions close  12pm Thursday 24 March, 2016.

LMRPCC consultancy survey

Loddon Mallee Regional Palliative Care Consortium are running a survey to ascertain what is working well with the current regional consultancy model and within the bounds of staffing levels implement activities to further optimise service to complex palliative care patients.  Survey closes Friday 15 April, 2016.

The Shepparton Women's Health Centre is having an open house celebration on Saturday 19 March, 2016. Click here for more details.  The centre offers a range of expert health practitioners and services to provide preventative and curative health care treatment, including:

18 month  DTPa vaccine and new NSW Immunisation Schedule

The 18 month DTPa vaccine (Infanrix or Tripacel) which is now available to order via the online vaccine ordering.  Also note that the new NSW Immunisation Schedule  lists  Infanrix-IPV is now to be given at four years of age (not three and a half years, as per the previous NSW Immunisation Schedule) if an 18 months pertussis vaccine is given.

The Community Visitor Scheme managed in Sunraysia by MS, is seeking volunteers to pay regular visits to people in their homes and in aged care facilities who may be experiencing lonlieness.

How to drug proof your kids

The How to Drug Proof Your Kids is a three night drug prevention based course being held in Donald, Chalton, St Arnaud and Wycheproof during April and May, 2016. The course is aimed at parents of children aged six to fourteen years (although parents, grandparents, other caregivers and educators of kids of any age are welcome to attend). The course is based on research that indicates high levels of parental connectedness can reduce the risk of harmful drug use by their children.
