Natural disasters and communicable diseases

The bushfires that began in 2020 were followed by COVID-19 and its all-consuming impact on our lives and work. In February 2022, Japanese Encephalitis virus was detected in Victorian pigs and subsequently, the first local human cases were confirmed. A widespread flooding event began in October 2022 in Victoria.
