New leadership roles at Murray PHN

Murray PHN CEO Matt Jones is pleased to announce two key appointments to our leadership team from July.

Former CEO of Benalla Health, Janine Holland has been appointed as Murray PHN’s Chief Operations Officer for a six-month period, while the organisation recruits to the role. Janine has held senior roles at Benalla Health for more than 12 years and has a strong reputation as a highly effective, supportive and experienced leader in the regional Victorian health system. Along with midwifery and nursing qualifications, she has also completed a Master of Public Health.

headspace Swan Hill manager Ian Johansen has been appointed as General Manager, Mental Health and Well Being. Ian, an accredited mental health social worker, has also completed a Masters in Youth Mental Health.

With changes in our operational structure, the role of Director of Commissioning has now been made redundant, and Penny Wilkinson has left Murray PHN after more than eight years of leadership in primary health care commissioning. Matt Jones thanked Penny for her long and valued contribution and wished her every success in the future.

Janine will join Murray PHN on the 12 July and Ian joins on 19 July.

In the interim, Director of Coordination, Janice Radrekusa, will continue to be Murray PHN’s main contact point for commissioned services other than mental health, while Jo Rasmussen continues to act as Mental Health Lead for commissioned services in mental health.
