Practice Incentives Program (PIP) after hours incentive

In May, the government released details about new after hours primary health care arrangements. The new arrangements, based on the outcomes of the Review of After Hours Primary Health Care, were introduced in July.

eHealth

The 2015â€"16 Federal Budget allocated $485 million over three years to redevelop the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record system. It will be renamed the My Health Record system once amendments to legislation are passed.  Consultation will start soon, with changes to take effect in 2016.

Cancer Australia, along with the Australian Government, has launched the first national children’s cancer website.  As well as offering support, it provides information about clinical trials and research, as well as links to resources for health professionals.

RotaTeq ® vaccine errors

Victoria accounts for almost 50% of the reported rotavirus vaccine administration errors. The Australian Childhood Immunisation Register shows monthly reports of the number of rotavirus vaccine doses which were given at greater than the recommended age for children born from 1 May 2007.

Hospital gains $1m machine | Wangaratta

Northeast Health Wangaratta and Toshiba Medical recently celebrated the commissioning of a new state-of-the-art CT scanner.  The Toshiba Prime CT is the most technologically advanced scanner in North East Victoria, and is one of only three in Victoria.
