Murray PHN  North West office | Official  opening

The Murray PHN North West Victoria office was officially opened on 23 October by Federal Member for Mallee Andrew Broad MP. The day was  a success with  local media and a number of local health professionals  in  attendance.

Bowel cancer screening videos

The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services in partnership with Cabrini Health developed a series of four short educational videos for GPs on bowel cancer screening and the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program. Practice Nurses will also benefit from watching these videos.

Medical centre | Award finalist

Delta Medical Centre, Shepparton, have been named finalists in the Best New Business Awards run annually by the Shepparton Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The awards commend businesses that are new to the Shepparton area. Delta Medical Centre is owned and staffed by Dr Mazen Albatat, Dr Bassam Jallo and Dr Karam Jallo of Shepparton.

Rural doctor  of the year

Dr Jeff Robinson, a  dedicated  rural doctor who has served the Victorian Alpine communities of Mount Beauty and Falls Creek for the  past 17 years has been named the Telstra Health RDAA Rural Doctor of the Year for 2015.

NDSS Diabetes screening

Diabetes NSW are hosting a free Diabetes screening event for participants of the National Diabetes Service Scheme. Health professionals will check participants HbA1c, cholesterol, blood pressure and feet. Places are limited and registration is essential.

Palliative care workshop | Mildura

The Loddon Mallee Regional Palliative Care Consultancy Service brings you a pharmacology in palliative care workshop, in Mildura on 16 November 2015. The workshop will cover: a review of principles safe prescribing practices, pain management including opioid and adjunct treatments, delirium, nausea and dyspnoea management and special considerations.
