Primary mental health commissioning

Primary mental health commissioning

Murray PHN's role is to improve health outcomes in our region. Our annual budget is approximately 1% of the total yearly health expenditure in our region. We understand that within a complex system with finite funds, the real opportunities to improve health outcomes lie within an ability to build partnerships and collaboration.

For the 17/18 financial year, Murray PHN will fund more than $28m in primary health services across the region. This investment will target improved health outcomes for individuals and improved performance of the primary health care system.

Murray PHN is now commissioning more than $6.4 million for a range of system-based improvements and services to support people with mental illness.

On Thursday 30 November, we held an industry briefing for primary mental health service providers via webinar, to discuss primary mental health priorities, the scale of investment for priorities and outcomes, and the timeframes and key milestones associated with this priority area.
